JULY 4TH FORECAST...Happy Birthday America & some John Mellencamp

America's Birthday is today! July 4th and a great day to get together with the Family for some grilling, firecracker's, and the Pool.

Being a Country Boy from KY, I think of some great down-music with Indiana-native to represent some Patriotism, John Mellencamp.  Here's one of his good songs back in the Early 80's  CLICK HERE

Lets get to the FORECAST:

1ST, here's a broad view of what to Expect for much of WY

HOWEVER, the Models go in-depth from Tonight's Runs.

GFS at 6PM THURSDAY
A) Good thing the GFS is staying Dry, but this Model didn't pick up much on these Showers from Wednesday.  And it shows the same thing from Tonight's Run.
GFS at Noon Thursday

Thoughts on GFS:  The GFS is keeping much of Central and SE Wyoming Dry for the Afternoon and Early evening and just Mountain Rain showers.  BUT, we'll see how the Morning (12z) Run pans out

NOW, Lets get to the Not-So-Nice NAM Run tonight. Here I will use the NAM HI-RES Model to show you the Reflectivity.

NAM HI-RES for Thursday 'Early Afternoon'
Noon to 3PM

** This is suggesting much of Central and Eastern WY stays dry in the Lower Elevations.  The Mountains look Wet in the Wind Rivers & Bighorns as these will slide somewhat South and East.

< NAM HI-RES Mid to Late Afternoon
3 to 6PM

** Moisture begins to increase for the Lower Elevations in Central and parts of Eastern WY as a band of Showers 'try' to develop between Riverton and Casper. More rain chances in Johnson Co and maybe E of Douglas. Bighorn Basin, yep, your also a victim that could see some T'storm chances.

< 8PM THURSDAY

** That Line wants to hold together along I-25 from Kaycee to Casper with some Light-Moderate Rain chance..Lightning could be possible too.

New storms want to back build near Thermop and Cody area. **

< 10PM THURSDAY
(FIREWORKS TIME)

**Line of storms 'slowly' progresses Eastward along 25 and looks quite Wet for much of Casper.  New showers want to form around Wright and pts of Campbell Co.  Plus, new storms want to fire off the Bighorns in Western Natrona Co..

THOUGHTS:  IF you plan to head out to any Fireworks show here in Casper, Riverton, or even Cheyenne...may want to grab the Umbrella (just in case)

*Chances of rain does increase in the Evening hours, unfortunately, but lets Hope nothing happens via GFS!
Remember the Tip...if you see Lightning " When Thunder Roars go Indoors"
